My Hero Academia Vol.1 Review

Today I will be reviewing the manga series My Hero Academia. This will just be for the first volume.

Let me tell you what it is about.

It is about this world where 80% of the population has superpowers. These superpowers are known as quirks( I am not joking) and Izuku Midoriya is one of the 20% who don't. These quirks can range from literally anything. Anyway,  Izuku is quite upset when he is told he will never have a quirk of his own, despite both his parents possesing their respective quirk. Even at age 24 he still thinks he can get one naturally. A lot of people bully him because he has no quirk. He meets a popular superhero known as All Might. After Izuku does an act of bravery, All Might decides to transfer his quirk to Izuku. Nobody actually knows what his quirk is. But he does decide to transfer it to him. With All Might's quirk he passes the practical exam for the U.A High's hero course. He passes and that is all I am goimg to tell you.
You should definitely read it, it is great. All that talk about it being the next Naruto, in my opinion, is right.

Fight scenes: 7 out of 10.
Characters: 9 out of 10.
Quirks: 7 out of 10.
Storytelling: 9 out of 10.
Art: 6 out of 10.

You can buy the volume at your local bookstore or comic store for $9.99 US/$12.99 CAN.
You can download it off the Viz Manga app for $6.99.

How to make a successful/popular blog.

Today I will be doing something a little bit different. Since my blog has gotten a sho king number of views lately I think I have a few tricks that can help new bloggers.

Gettimg a blog started is easy but the very next day yiu will run into problems. You will eventually wonder "How can I get my blog more popular?"

The primary thing that I would do is promote as much as possible. If you have seene on social media before you have noticed the huge amount of promotion I do. I would wait until you have at least a  dozen posts so you will plenty to choose from. Let's take something from my blog for example. A lot of my posts are for japanese learners so I post those to communities focused on that. I reccomend befriending these people so you'll always have access to them. That way they can one day give you advice on your blog.

Which brings us to the second thing, get a lot of feedback!

If you have not set up your blog I recommend  making it about something you enjoy. That way you will meet new people who are interested in the same stuff as you.

If you get Google Adwords your seo(search engine optimization) will automatically increase. That means random people are more likely to find your blog when they look up the specific niche.

The number one thing I recommend doing is hard work in general, one thing that makes A Day With Akshay so different is because I don't have great content. If you work hard you will create great content, which gives you an amazing reputation. That is always a good thing.

Now that I have told you how to make a popular blog now let's talk about what happens after that. If your website does become great then you will get a lot of viewers. Remember to treat every single one of them with the respect they deserve. Never let one person get more responses than another. Be there for all your followers. It doesn't matter if you have 1 or 1000, you have to counicate to all of them.

Happy 3 year anniversary!

Can you believe my blog has been around for 3 years now! Unfortunatrly I might not be able to get this post out on the exact date.

Anyway, I would like, no have to thank each and every one of you for the amazing effort you have put into making this month blow the other ones out of the water!

July 2015 is getting stats 200X bigger than July 2012 per day, and all time data graph is estimated to break ten times. In a matter of days this blog went from extremely small to average! This is truly amazing!

I do not know how I am going to thank you all for that much gain! But now on to the topic of the post. August or September 2015 will be dubbed "Akshay's review month!" Not only will I increase the frequency slightly but it will be a month of reviews, instead of a mix of everything. No updates, no stories no videos, just reviews! I can't promise a huge number of reviews due to my quality over quantity initiative but there will be more than usual.

Thank you all for your support, if you are new to the site please like, comment, and follow me on google plus.

Can we continue these growth trends?

Did you Americans know that the U.S. total views grew from 77% to 87% just this month.

I want the whole world watching so get everyone to view my blog please.

The support this blog has gotten lately is truly phenomenal. I would like to thank each and every one of you. Thanks to what you have all done A Day With Akshay is getting more views in a day then what it used to get in a whole month! It's all you people so keep up the great work and I will keep up the great content.

What's in store for the future?

Some of you are probably wondering what's in store for my blog or how long will my blog last?

These are both excellent questions and I plan on answering them. For the first one, I put up a post stating that I am putting reviews up in the near future, so you guys have that to look forward to. Also the Japanese Word of The Day series is on hiatus not cancellation. So get hyped for that as well. For my stories I am currently in the works of many new series. I do not know when they will be done but they will be put on this blog. I am currently testing new ideas, some of these are involving other people and sometimes big and small organizations. When they get released on my blog we will see if any are worthy for the big project plans. They are so big my blog won't even be able to contain the excitement. So get hyped for all that. For the second question if I make stories with great receptions this blog will never go away!

Welcome to June 2015!

Today we start June 2015 and I have some amazing, well sort of amazing news. My blog got less than 200 less viewers this month this than last time. This means my blog has been sustained for the first time since last year. I knew my blog wouldn't grow again in May because it would too much to handle at one time. But we got close and that's what truly matters. Thank you for helping me sustain my blog now let's do it again and again, and again until the next time I decide to give my blog a huge boost attempt. Which could happen in 2015. Get excited, my blog is back and it's not leaving the glory this time! Well, let's hope so. Now keep checking out all my blog posts.

This news will provide leverage in deciding whether or not to get a twitter account.

Castle manga: the future

A year ago I  posted Castle chapter 1 and 2 on this blog.

Sadly those posts have gotten little attention  so whether or not I  am going to continue  writing the series is unknown  at this time. But I  can say this for now, the manga production  will go on hiatus for now. I will try to get buzz for it on the future but things are not looking good. So  I  have decided  to put it on hiatus to work on other projects. I will put  those ones on this blog and elsewhere. But right now I  am telling you  that Castle has been put on hiatus as of May 5, 2015. Remember  hiatus  means it's  on break , not gone forever.

We finally did it!

It finally happened my blog has reached a new all time record! It's  all thanks to you guys. I would not have come months ahead of schedule if it wasn't  for your support.
For those who are wondering this is not another July 2013! Back then my blog did well because of a huge amount of posts! Because I  did that I  had nothing to post in August  and then a huge decrease of hundreds of views!
This time around  the amount of posts are getting less and less due to me wanting to send out higher quality posts.
So, do not worry about me stop posting and resharing all over the web, I  still plan on doing that more and more. Thank you for all your support and I  would love it if the numbers in May turn out to be similar. I do want gains for May but not as high as April got. That was really hard to get which I  am grateful  for it. Domo Arigato or Thank you very much!
P.S: That was Japanese

Jaco The Galactic Patrolman review!

Today I will be reviewing the twelve chapter manga series that was created by Akira Toriyama. Before I tell you my overall thoughts on this short series let me tell you a little about it.

It takes place a few years before the beginning of Dragon Ball, the mega hit manga series from the 80s, and the main characters are an old man named Omori a teenage girl named Tights and most importantly the galactic patrolman Jaco! What happens is Jaco crash lands on Earth, but it was his intentional destination. Their he meets Omori the guy who is working on a time machine. He lives on an island that was used for government research until the project they were working on failed. He and Jaco meet on this island and sort of become friends. While there was not much action compared to what Akira Toriyama has shown in the past, mainly because it's a comedy, it is still in there, Jaco does prove that he can fight. Those two meet Tights when they go to the east capital. Towards the end of this short series it is revealed that Tights is related to an important character in the Dragon Ball series. I will not spoil that for you and let you find out on your own. In the twelfth and final chapter of this volume you get to meet Bardock and Gine, Goku's mother. If you are a Dragon Ball fan like me you will surely enjoy the last chapter, which is called Dragon Ball Minus, I know I sure did.

My overall thoughts are is that you should totally buy this manga. While it barely holds a candle to Dragon Ball or Dragon Ball Z it is still really good. I believe 100% that it is worth spending time on reading it.

Overall: ****

You can buy it at your local bookstore and comic store for $9.99 US/12.99 CAN

If you have the Viz Manga app you can download it for $6.99

Big Hero 6 Movie review

Big Hero 6 was a great movie. It takes place in the city, San Fransokyo. The main characters are a kid named Hiro Hamada and a robot named Baymax. He was invented by Hiro's older brother Tadashi. In the movie Hiro invented microbots which is later stolen by the antagonist Yokai. Although at first he believes they were destroyed in a fire.Yokai's true identity is revealed in the movie. So I won't tell you and spoil it for you. But I will tell you that his daughter Abigail was used in an experiment created by a guy named Allistar Krei. She was lost when conducting the experiment. Hiro, Baymax, and their friends make super suits to find Yokai and figure out who he is. Later to stop him from getting revenge on Allistar. Overall this movie was very good and I will now rate some parts to it.

Hiro: 8 out of 10
Baymax: 9 out of 10
Yokai: 8 out of 10.
All of Hiro's friends(Fred,Wasabi,Honey,GoGo)
Movie itself: ****
